Our Perfect Morning Routine

“What is a perfect morning routine?” We hear you say. Starting your day with a good routine that includes healthy habits is important for your overall health and well being. It can set the tone for the day ahead, and can be the difference between a good and bad day. Here is how we like to start our mornings, to give you an idea of what a healthy morning routine might look like.

1. Wake up, stretch

Stretching for just a few minutes in the morning can have profound effects on your body and mind. It can increase flexibility and mobility, improve your mood and reduce stress, ease back pain, and increase circulation. We love to start our day with 10 minutes of gentle yoga, as it is a great way to wake up and sets you up for the day ahead.

2. Brush teeth and tongue scrape with Boka

After stretching, it’s time to brush those teeth using Boka’s fresh and fluoride-free toothpaste, followed by Boka’s tongue scraper to remove unwanted bacteria and debris build up on the tongue. Maintaining good oral hygiene helps prevent bad breath and problems such as gum disease and tooth decay. (link to tongue cleaning article) Cleaning your tongue is an important part of maintaining good mouth hygiene, as the tongue harbors unwanted bacteria which can lead to bad breath, cavities and imbalances in gut bacteria.

3. Throw on a face mask by Rael

Face masks are a great way to freshen and revitalize the skin and, depending on where you are in your menstrual cycle, Rael has a face mask for you.

Weak 1 menstrual phase: during your period, your skin is more prone to sensitivity and dryness. Apply the Hydration face mask to deliver serious moisture.

Weak 2 follicular phase: use a collagen mask to boost skin moisture for a plumper, smoother complexion.

Weak 3 ovulation: prevent dull skin after ovulation by using the Vitamin C face mask.

Weak 4 luteal phase: the Tea Tree mask is great in the run-up to your period; infused with tea tree oil and naturally antiseptic ingredients, it helps clear skin and prevent blocked pores.

4. Make an Energy Tea with Vana Tisanes

Instead of reaching for the coffee, we opt for an organic Energy Tea from Vana Tisanes. Made with ashwagandha and reishi mushrooms, this tea combines a great blend of herbs to give you clear, non-jittery energy, helping you tackle the day ahead with no crash. It is also more than just a pick-me-up. By reducing adrenaline, it helps you feel more relaxed and calms the mind, for better memory, focus and endurance.

5. Energize with essential oils

Whilst we’re waiting for our face mask to do its magic, we like to clear the mind by journaling. To create a nurturing, relaxing space, we put on a Campo diffuser and pick our favorite Campo essential oil, such as energy or focus, to uplift and invigorate.

6. Clean and moisturize the face

Now it’s time for skin care.

We start by washing the face to remove the face mask and patting dry with Clean Skin Club XL wipes. These wipes are made from 100% biodegradable fabric and use all natural ingredients, making them extra gentle and perfect for those with sensitive skin. Then we apply our favorite serum and moisturizer.

7. Boost skin’s appearance

After cleaning and moisturizing, we follow up with Solawave’s Advanced Skincare Wand. This award-winning, celebrity favorite uses 4 powerful skincare technologies, including red light therapy at 660nm, to reduce signs of aging, dark circles and blemishes. The result? Younger-looking, radiant, healthy skin.

8. Freshen up

Next we like to put on Ingredients natural deodorant, face and body plant water mist, throat spray and nasal spray for extra freshness. We love this brand for their transparency in ensuring every ingredient is listed on their products, and the fact that all these ingredients are pure and plant-based - no chemicals to see here.

9. Spray natural fragrance

Normal, everyday perfumes expose our bodies to numerous, undisclosed harmful chemicals. To avoid this, we turn to Sigil’s “clean”, beautiful smelling fragrances, which are made from flower and plant extracts and are free from toxic chemicals.

10. Breakfast

Now we’re feeling extra fresh, calm and collected, it’s time to fuel our body. We like to eat a healthy breakfast consisting of fruit, whole grains, and foods containing prebiotics and probiotics, such as yogurt. This helps optimize our digestion by feeding and promoting the growth of friendly bacteria in the gut, as well as providing our bodies with the essential vitamins and minerals it needs to function properly.

11. Time to leave

Before we head out the door, we always make sure we have our bkr water bottle in hand. These eco-friendly, reusable glass bottles mean we can look good whilst staying hydrated. Another essential for our purse is Ingredients hand spray which uses an organic essential oil blend to keep hands clean.
